As others have said, www.modelmayhem.com is an excellent source for finding models. Here's the catch: if you go to the site, you will see a fair amount of models to choose from...but a substantial portion of the GOOD ones or the BEST ones mark their site as private and the only way to see those is to have a posting yourself, advertising that you're a photographer---and I believe that a minimum amount of photos you have to submit is 4. When you have your own site on Model Mayhem, you gain immediate access to ALL photos from EVERYONE. So if you want the best available, then have your own post.

If you do not use old boilers with cellulite and tattoo's fighting for attention with saggy breasts and bulging fat you should be OK. Oh and if you wish to be taken seriously probably best not to inform folks you spend a lot of time watching porn in between shooting snaps of women, who would look much better with their kit on, and talking crap about showing the inner woman.

Simple really SS

OMG I burst out laughing out loud laughing reading that. πŸ˜… You have a real poetic skill, you are an artist with words too! I bet you have to beat the admiring female crowd back with a stick! 😜

When younger that was certainly the case JD but with maturity has come slightly less attention, only slightly though, from admiring females which is a good thing in this age of STD's becoming harder to treat. Also I now find two women a night quite sufficient whilst in my younger days.................................

I have shot many nudes in the day; OneModelPlace.com used to be the premiere site until the greedy new foreign owners bought it and turned it to crap. ModelMayhem was started later and it is a "known" entity for most younger models. I happen to be photographer #607 so I was there early...and I can tell you that the results from MM in my area have been reduced quite a bit for trade work. All models feel they have a need to be paid top dollar here, even if they lack the look or experience to justify it.

The meetup thing is not what I'd say is "intimate" enough to do very good nude work. You are competing for time and attention with other photographers mucking things up.

Best bet; go with MM, and get ready to pay for a model with lots of experience. She'll know how to pose, and you'll be more relaxed with guaranteed results.

If you put together a good portfolio, they should pay you. About $500 a session.

Hi Hoggers,

I had a couple of Hoggers ask me the same question about how I go about finding models to photograph. Thinking if I pass this on maybe some of you guys will go out and photograph some models and post your work on UHH.

How I get girls / models to photograph:

When I picked up a camera in 2010, my mentor Brian Donnelly, a phenomenal photographer, who photograph lots of girls. Did two things for me when it came to finding girls to photograph.

First, any girls that wanted a photoshoot with Brian and could not afford his rates. Brian would refer the girls to me. I would do the photoshoots for free just to learn about the subject matter. After the photoshoot, Brian would critique my work before sending the images to the model.

To this very day, I get about 2 referrals a month for photoshoots from friends of friends. Most of the shoots are non-model shoots so I hardly ever post those images because I don't have a release.

Second, Brian helped me start a profile on Model Mayhem. As I started getting better in photography and started winning the POTD 18+ competition I would post my winning badges on my profile. Girls started contacting me for photoshoots.

I no longer belong to Model Mayhem. I do recommend them as a resource for meeting girls / models for photoshoots. I still get about 2 request a month for photoshoots from traveling models.

On my own, I joined tons of local Meet Up groups in my area. If I enjoyed working with a model at a Meet Up, I would give them my contact info and asked them to contact me if they are interested in doing a photoshoot. This has also worked out for me. If anyone decides to do this, I recommend having a portfolio to show off your work.

Cost:

Like everyone else here on the hog, I'm not rich by any means. In the beginning if I really wanted to work with a particular model. I had to come out of pocket and negotiate rates.

After photographing so many girls and models and winning photography competitions I became a established photographer in my area. I don't really pay models anymore and usually shoot for trade unless I attend a Meet Up.

Now I'm hoping some of you guys will go out and join Model Mayhem, find Meet Ups groups in your area and start photographing some beautiful girls to post on the hog.
