While I have been privileged over the years to have been asked by a few close friends to take some nude and semi-nude Boudoir pics, I have never really looked for models to pose. So I am wondering where fellow Hoggers in this section find their models, and if paid, what kind of hourly rate do the models currently command?

Check out meetup.com. In my area, there is a group that meets in a photo studio approximately once a week, hiring professional models. The cost is $150, which I think weeds out the less-than-serious photogs. I haven't attended a session yet, mostly because of scheduling conflicts, but I receive the weekly notice, which includes model and portfolio data, and if the opportunity presents itself, will consider attending.

1132, I'll give you the lowdown as I know it.
There are about 4 different Modeling sites with Model Mayhem(MM) being the biggest in the USA. I also like Suicide Girls!
BUT you have to join it to send Messages to Models or anyone else but you can browse it without belonging. To join you have to send in I think a portfolio with 8 images to be looked at by the admissions keepers. So you can't just join. They will decide if you are a photographer or just a GWC. Personally I have shot maybe 30 models this past year and ALL are from MM and all are clothed models. a few have asked if I would shoot nudes for them which is what I have posted here. All of my shoots are at TF(trade) so no money is exchanged. I'm doing my first paid shoot in 2 weeks(I pay her). The stronger you portfolio the more chance that you can do Trade work with a model. Anybody will shoot for pay with most ANY photographer willing to pony up their rates.
The typical good looking nude Model is $200 for two hrs. a few charge more. To give you an idea, some are Playboy/Penthouse cover Models. Yes, you can shoot a Playboy Model.
There are other ways to get models as has been suggested. To give you a standard, probably 1/2 of the Models on MM are a size 2, regardless of height. Some of the super-curvy models can push up to a size 4. The little black model that I posted in the People Section is a size 0.
If you're in the Miami area there are probably 3000+ MM models but probably only 10-15% shoot nudes. Some of the non-premium clothed models shot for as little as $20/hr. If you build a really good nude/implied/clothed portfolio you can shoot nudes for Trade as well. Lots of models will also shot for 30-$50/hr. so rates are all over the board depending on what the model brings to the table as well as experience.
Unless you have friends that are willing, I'm not familiar with getting models from other sources.
Call some of the studios or clubs in the area as some will host traveling models for a fee probably less than a std. $200 rate.

When you shoot for trade what is it that you are trading?

You are both trading time. The model is not charging you to pose and you are not charging her/him to shoot.
Hence the old expression "time for prints"

You each end up with photos for your portfolio with neither of you having to part with any cash.

I mentioned to a friend that I would love to shoot nudes but have no experience, she immediately volunteered . she's older and things are not as firm as
these young models but I get experience. I probably get more experience then shooting a 20 year old . You have to find new ways to cover parts and rolls and bulges stc ,plus ideas to make her feel good about herself. The only thing is she made me promise to NEVER show or post the pics. I send her everything I shoot and then I delete most of them from my computer.

I shoot about 12-15 nudes a year, and have only paid twice. Once a friend of a friend took off work, so I paid her a little more than she made at work. Another time I worked with a model that I met at a group photo shoot. She posted on Facebook she needed money for a trip, so I paid her to help her with her trip.

A lot of women enjoy posing nude, the younger the woman is it seems the less inhibited she feels about it. And if they have a girl friend with them it makes them feel safe, and if she is comfortable around you, you will be amazed at what a shoot you will have.

I have had two really crazy shoots. Both is when a mother was with them. Both of the mothers kept pushing their daughters to go outside of their comfort zone. So if a model ever asks is it Okay if she brings her mother...oh yes it
is!

If a girl has an idea of what to shoot and needs a prop I will buy it for her. i.e.: flowers, a boa, nylons, etc. I am usually in for a surprise because they use those props in ways I wouldn't think of.

You have to keep in mind that the model is probably going to be nervous even if you can't tell that she is. So you have to show confidence. The first image you show her has to be awesome so that she feels awesome about being photographed.

If you do not use old boilers with cellulite and tattoo's fighting for attention with saggy breasts and bulging fat you should be OK. Oh and if you wish to be taken seriously probably best not to inform folks you spend a lot of time watching porn in between shooting snaps of women, who would look much better with their kit on, and talking crap about showing the inner woman.
