You may have not given "ADMINSTRATOR" status to your new login ID in WINDOWS 7 and this would restrict your ability to download and install programs.

If it's "new", and if it's under warranty, I'd be getting in contact with Gateway, and pushing for replacement.
The # referenced is likely a memory location for video (display) functions.
Since you've done a restore, and no joy, it's hardware issues, more than likely. About the only fix is a replacement 'puter.

This was the reason I suggested rotating the memory card locations by swapping positions in the machine. This should change any error or defective location and would show up when the machine does it's self-test at bootup. However, I think there is another problem with this machine and software compatability or conflict being generated by some other program started in the bootstrap. This could be in the profile or properties.

Please be more correct in your spelling. Are you saying that some of these RAW files are from a KODAC camera or that the NEW Nikon CODEC works only under one logon ID in WINDOWS 7?
BestBuy might resolve your difficulties, but they typically do not work for free. Your warranty is through Gateway after the original 30 or 60 days. Have you called Gateway
Customer Service and seen if they can upload your error log files? This may prove more efficient since the Geek Squad Guys will require your PC to be dropped off and evaluated unless you paid for an extra Warrenty through them which including IN HOME REPAIR.
Learn to be explicit in your descriptions of the problem when you talk with any repair personell. Kodak RAW files are of a different format than NIKON RAW files. The NEW NIKON CODEC that you were notified about as a download, is the decode algarithum for downloading NIKON RAW data files.
