Sorry - I saw the "fixed" green check and didn't finish reading the thread. If no one else here can help, just make sure your Windows and applications updates are current and perhaps look through the Microsoft forums.

Still under warranty? Contact the original manufacturer - quite often a pain but they may be familiar with it.

I just did a Google search on the error code that you referred to and it listed several solutions to the problem.

Some people evidently had some problems with system updates recently that caused a problem with with the picture viewer or the cd/dvd burner.

See this link below and follow the advice given there.

Also you can use the system restore feature and clear it up by going back in time before you started having the problem and that should take care of the problem. Use the help menu for instructions on how to do a system restore.

I have done numerous updates, tryed all the places for a fix and they either want money, or dont cover windows 7.
system restore on the gateway I did serveral times with no help.
The gateway machine doesnt give you an earlier date to restore it to . Which is odd. Just restores it to today.
Good lord what a mess.
Also I got this problem after I tried shooting Raw photos on my nikon on here it said to do.
That killed the kodak camera when I tryed to upload photos. Keep thinking please.. Thanks for helping

Just a suggetion, but have you tried to uninstall the program you last installed and seeing if that fixes the problem. Many times, free trial software may not download properly. Also it may alter drivers. Try to uninstall the problem program you last installed and then contact their customer service to see if the trial version is compatible to your Windows 7 version.Their website may have a different version for you to download.

Thaks
I have not installed any new program.. Just shot a few photos on the nikon on the raw setting.....
Windows live Photo gallery is what is the problem now. There is no program listed alone on the uninstalls under that name..
Any other ideas.
To get online I cant use my icons.. have to click on windows help.. Then whats new in windows 7, then square to enlarge it , then home button the left top.
Keep giving me suggestions ..
No harm in that.
Why did raw upset the computer?

Thaks br I have not installed any new program.. J... (show quote)

It is possible that the Windows Live Photo Gallery isn't recognizing the Nikon raw file and it may need to be selected in the preference menu for the live viewer or you may need a newer driver (DLL) file.

I assume you have installed Nikon NX2 into your computer already from the CD that came with your camera. Sometimes, the Nikon website has specific drivers and driver updates for their different cameras that either improve or fix download problems. I suspect that the RAW driver has either been corrupted or didn't install properly. See if this is the problem. Have you spoken to NIKON Customer Service about this problem. Many times they will be glad to do hand holding to solve driver problems or computer configuration errors.

One more suggestion since you obviously do not have a system disc that came with your machine. In your original instructions for your Gateway Computer, it told you to burn a backup system disc and store it in a safe place. If you did not do this, you can order a disc from Gateway customer service. If your hard drive ever crashes, you will need this and any other program discs for reloading of your computer. Wiping your hard drive and starting fresh sometimes is the only way to solve some problems, but that's really only a last resort. If you have a system disc, you can use it to update or correct corrupted drivers and system files as well.
Also, have you tried placing the SD memory directly into the SD card reader to download the RAW files? If the correct Nikon camera driver is corrupted or not installed, direct trasfer from the SD card reader should work since it shows up as a removeable drive.
