I'll ignore your sarcasm and insults, counselor. As to user agreements, the courts have often struck down unfair clauses when companies impose onerous, dishonest, and unfair terms in "agreements." For example, the courts now are throwing out "no class action" and "arbitration required" clauses that are present in many user "agreements." In addition, there are various catch all laws which forbid sleazy behavior such as MicroTheft's. E.g., CA B&P Code 17200 & 17500.

I guarantee you that Microsoft is doing NOTHING illegal here.

That is one hell of a stretch to try and classify this as "unfair competition" CA B&P Code 17200, and ABSOLUTELY ABSURD to claim that it's "directly or indirectly disposing of real or personal property" under CA B&P Code 17500

Keep trying to prove me wrong, your amateurish googling of random codes has NOTHING on my DECADES of experience.

Feel free to keep embarrassing yourself, though a wise person would simply STOP.

Interesting. I had exactly the same thing happen on the same day (June 8), Microsoft deciding that my copy of Windows 7 was "not genuine," with the OS installed by Dell on an original purchase. And now, I sure it will take me hours, if not days, to get this corrected. Thank you, Microsoft.

Interesting indeed. My computer person has "disappeared". If you figure out a solution please let me know & I'll do the same. I wonder if it's a Dell thing.....

Thanks for the reply
