Yup, B&W is my love but the color shot is a little more dramatic IMHO.

I like the color. I think you gain a lot in the water with color.

What I really like is the airplane taking off. It adds a dynamism to what otherwise would be a static shot. (It would be one of Porter Airlines jet props leaving the downtown Billy Bishop airport.)
Both shots are excellent but I think I have a slight preference for the colour. I wondered what the impact might be if you had included one of the ferry boats which regularly ply between the islands and the mainland. Not sure.
As a matter of interest, there are three islands. Centre Island is a unique community that is the year round home to about 300 people. Nothing quite like it anywhere in North America. Both the island community and the air traffic are major running controversies.
(I'm an ex Torontonian now retired north of the city.)

B+W, though I usually prefer color.

For me, I'm going with the first one.

I live just a few kilometres east of Toronto but I have never done any photography on the islands. You inspire me to get over there. I prefer the colour photo but I always prefer colour to B&W. I can see the merits in the B&W though and would be pleased to hang it in my home. You might fonsider toning it in cyan or blue just to see how it looks. 👍👍👍

I like both. As the artist, I would choose depending on the mood I wanted to convey. To me, the color image leaves me with a friendly welcoming feeling.

The BW one leaves me feeling vaguely uncomfortable; I could read "mildly sinister" into the image. This is not to suggest dislike. Many well known popular images leave me feeling uncomfortable. The important thing is that the image leave one feeling something.

Color or B&W
THIS is totally Bizarre !!
I prefer color 99.44% of the time - - however in this shot - - the color seems almost distracting
Somewhat overcooked and glaring - -
The color seems to poke you in the eye and draws your focus away from the skyline.
-
Although in the minority, I prefer the B&W version of this shot.
