Does your camera have WiFi? if you camera does not have the hardware for Wifi, no app on your camera or computer can make it happen. If no WiFi it's cable or pull the card and plug it into your computer.

Mine doesn't but i would suspect it uses Bluetooth technology to connect. doesn't the manual give you some hints. If not I'd bet there is a youtube video showing this.

Some Nikon models have built in WiFi, Although my D3300 is not one of them, I will have to buy an adapter that Nikon makes to be WiFi compatible.

I have Canon but it seems like Nikon would be very similar. Download the app from Nikon or other 3rd party that supports your camera to your PC/tablet/smartphone. Turn on your Wi-Fi on your camera, connect to your camera's hotspot on your PC (you may be prompted for some kind of security key provided by your camera - follow the directions), and open the app - now you should be able to transfer photos and remote control some functions of the camera via the PC (or tablet or smartphone).

Why go thru all the steps when you can plug in and transfer much faster? Not to mention a faster transfer rate.

This is true, why bother with WiFi.

I have both the AW110 and the P900, both with wifi built in, using Nikon app 'Nikon WMU' I can sync with my iPad or phone to download on the go, which is great when travelling without a laptop. Can also enable remote operation of the cameras. Check the Nikon site for a download, mine came on a disc with the camera. Good luck

Check the details - my Canon has Wifi capabilities but only sends a compressed image over the Wifi.

I was wondering the same thing. I have a cable hanging on the wall in arms length of me desk. I reach over and grab it, plug it in from the camera to the pc, and download. Couldn't be simpler.

I like the wifi capability of my D750. When you're out in the field you can pull images to a phone or tablet, connecting to the camera's wifi the way you would any wifi network, and send immediately. I can send NEF or JPEG files. Generally I send the JPEGs because of the recipient. The app is Nikon WMU. It's a bit "clunky" and I hope for an improved version in the near future. But I've found this useful on a number of occasions.

Some Nikon DSLR do not have built in Wi-Fi. Two of them are the D3300 and D7100. You need an adapter WU-1a to get Wi-Fi. A friend with a D3300 says it is a waste of money. Perhaps he hasn't mastered it yet?
