I insisted she not wear the watch this time (thanks everyone!) Hoping I did a better job, although the couple showed up 45 minutes late which took me well into the dreaded noon - 1:00 pm hour. C&C please! And spare nothing, I can take it.

Even considering the bright sunshine, I THINK I did a much better job with the light and shadows this time around.

Hi Patrick, I never saw your first try but I like these except for a couple of details.
First pic I like but the string locking the barn door is distracting.
I dont really like the second one due to the cut off of the knees and then you can see his feet and the pose where I can see her eyes but his are closed.
The third one is great but would have benifitted if the grass straws wasnt in thier face. I know its a bit tricky to do the weeding so it doesnt distract.
The fourth one is just great. I like it
Gert

Like #1, #2 Cut off knees is not as nice but ok and his eyes appear to be shut, Like #3, #4 seems a little dark to me.

Good job.
For what it's worth,I would crop or clone out the string on #1, and I love #3 just as it is! It looks like they don't know anyone is watching them. Nice!
I like #4 too, just a tad dark.
:)

Thanks y'all I appreciate the very helpful comments. I will remove the wire locking the door in 1.

Two maybe a re=crop at the waist would improve it?

Three, I have several of these but I liked this one best of the lot.

Four, I agree in hindsight is a bit dark. I will adjust the lighting on that one.

All very good/appropriate critiques thanks!

OK here are the corrections that were suggested as best I could implement them. I decline to make any adjustments to 3 however because I think that one is good as is or it is the way I want it in any event. Now as for his eyes being closed in # 2 - every version of that shot I made his eyes are closed because he could not open them due to light sensitivity. That was a real challenge for the rest of the shoot as well. I discarded over 150 shots from this shoot because of his closed eyes. I really had not considered facing such a challenge before but it sure has opened my eye, so to speak! :)

I think they are great!!
And don't you dare touch the 3rd one! I love it!!
Nice clone job, and brightening of the dandelion one!
The only one thing I would do if it was me, would be to go to her waist with the crop for the blanket one.
But that is just me.
Nice job!
:)

dj, I tried that and was not very pleased with the results. I cannot say WHY I wasn't pleased other than to say it threw the photo off-balance somehow?? If that makes any sense. Kind of like looking at a photo with water that is tilted. I can post it if you want to see it. You may disagree with me and I know it is just a mental thing and not even sure I am correctly describing what I mean lol

Sure, post and lets see it.
I'm sure it is fine, but you have to be happy with what you are doing.
