I suspect that there's not a lot to worry about with the 600 mpx wide shots but the "upload the original" which just popped up last week is another matter. Still, I don't like the whole idea personally. Like everyone else, I'd sure hate to see it all come to a halt because it has been very beneficial for several of us but if I have to give up or involuntarily share my image ownership, I'm outta here. I just don't get where they're coming from with this. If they don't respond to this thread then I'll email them unless someone else wants to do it. I'm cool with it.

I think we need to get an answer before we rush to judgment. This may be essentially boilerplate, with no real intent to use our images for gain. Let's give them a chance to answer at least.

Absolutely "no rush to judgement" but with a little look at background the company behind this site is not new - been around since 2004 and involved in other pursuits some of which has had them occupying seats in courtrooms. They also have a provision whereby you can buy their legal work for your site and my thinking is that if they didn't have something in mind, should've and could've left that clause out. This has only been going on since June and they've apparently been using that clause since long ago.

When I first joined the forum I was negligent and failed to read all the "rules" thoroughly. My bad. My questions is this - would you please discuss the following excerpt from the rules in terms of what you folks plan on doing with the images we have posted and how, in light of the copyright law, watermarks, exif data, etc., do you propose to gain ownership of our images by virtue of us participating in this forum and then presume to use those images as you see fit?
