Didn't intend to move you away from Adorama. They have an outstanding reputation. If any one of the A, B, C crowd has a good deal, all three likely have the same deal. (A, B, C = Adorama, B&H, Cameta and Amazon thrown in for good measure).

No problem Nick, I shop each and every company you mentioned.

For me, being a male having no use for tampon's I would definitely choose the Sigma. Adorama has the Sigma 150-600 on sale which includes a free dock.

Cleaning lenses?

I am looking to get a long zoom. I have read about the Sigma 150 to 600 sport and the Tamron 150 to 600. Most the reviews I have read say the Sigma is sharper at 600 and has the bonus of the dock. I have seen some fantastic shots on here with the Tampon though. I am leaning toward the heavy Sigma. The price is not a big consideration, but I do not want to spend more than the Sigma. Which would you choose.

There are lots of comparisons available.

Although tampons are cheaper they don't focus well and look silly mounted on a camera.

Seriously, if I was interested in this zoom my choice would be the Sigma. It is rated slightly better than the Tamron and it has the docking station which provides some flexibility.

Check this sight for test data on each. http://www.lenscore.org/

I would definitely get the Sigma, as I cant see what use I would get from a Tampon in photography, though you get several in a box.

You're right about the empties. I love bringing a load of bottles to the supermarket and cashing them in. Although I don't especially like soda, I've started buying more and more of it so I can get more money returning the empties. :D

The Tamron is most closely matched by the Sigma Contemporary.

And the Sigma Sport is more closely matched by the Nikon 200-500, which are a bit better than the above mentioned.

The Sport performs best at the 600 end, over the Tamron or Contemporary. Though for most people, the Tamron or Contemporary are perfectly fine lenses and will not disappoint them.

I settled on the Sport and it performs even better than I hoped for, and I was expecting a lot

BTW, you can get the Sport version (like new refurb) for $1500 shipped directly from Sigma. They go in and out of stock almost daily though.
The Tamron is most closely matched by the Sigma Co... (show quote)

I'm not aware of any credible evidence (anecdotes from fan boys don't count) that the Sigma Sport produces a better image than the Contemporary. If you have any please be kind enough to share it. It does have a heftier build. As it relates to the Tamron, you could flip a coin and win either way.

Thank you!

BTW, we usually price match to the other two!

I've noticed A, B, C have always been within a dollar or so of anything I was looking to purchase. I'm one of those folks who won't be swayed by amazingly low prices offered by dealers who will remain nameless.

Previously had Sigma 150-500 on Pentax with minor problem of the lens "self extending" if I walked about which was tolerable.

Now on Nikon D800 and using 150-600mm with no issues ..enclosed two images one at 24mm (Nikon 24-120 f4 Lens) and one with Sigma 150-600mm at full range from the same place.
Look carefully in 7803 for the red Red Vessel slightly right of Centre, then look at 7819

Can't fault the clarity from the Sigma Taken at F-8 1/1600th Sec
