I was only out for a short time today. I took the first shot, it was a cloudy day. I played with it in elements and came up with the second shot. CC appreciated. Is it too over the top?

Um, guess that might depend on how you planned to use it....or IF you planned to use it for....what? Maybe printed in the corner of stationery? Don't let anyone critique it though, this is YOUR picture. What was your plan? Y'see, maybe my suggestion was no good at all...it's all up to you.

Jenny good to see you back on line. When I post and ask for CC it is for that very reason. Suggestions on making changes or a different point of view is always welcomed by me. That doesn't necessarily me I will take everyone thoughts and ideas as gospel. Especially when I am trying to learn a new technique in Elements. I appreciate when someone takes the time to comment. That means I got a reaction out of a person, whether that reaction is good or bad is another story

Hope my reaction was positive! There is a mkt. for "soft"
focus and delicate colors .

I don't know about the market. But I liked it. I had tried several different styles. The first picture I transformed was was just an ok shot. I wanted to see if I could make it into something "special"

I find it very appealing, Frank. Often I don't care for white vignettes, but it seems appropriate here, for the soft and delicate look Jenny mentioned. I could see this in an oval mat in a small frame, maybe grouped with a few others of similar color and pp.

Are you pleased with it overall? Any particular issue you were wondering about?

Linda thanks for your observations. As I mentioned before I tried to do something with a so so shot. I am pleased with the results. But there is always room for improvement.

It's quite nice, NJFrank.

What I may have done differently is include the second blossom, and cropped the image as a horizontal. I think both blossoms together as a pair, representing primary and secondary subject, would make a more interesting, sophisticated image. Also, the different orientation of the secondary blossom will give the image a less flat, more dimensional quality.

I love your treatment and feel the softness of the overall work lends itself to being a card maybe 'Sorry to hear of your loss'

Just my view as I saw it

Frank,

I like the soft look for this particular image/subject. My only question is if you lost just a little too much depth of color in the purple or perhaps a tad loss in detail and sharpness? I understand the soft feel of the PP'ing, but I just wonder if perhaps just a small boost in selective contrast might help it out a little with the white vignetting? Possibly bring out the green in the leaves just a tad more for contrast . . . just ideas and questions.

Best Regards,
Tom

Thanks for you comments. This is the reason I do ask. Different people see the same shot differently. This is something to consider.

Thanks for looking. Maybe I should send it to Hallmark. They might pay me enough to get another SD card. :)
