While in New Orleans on the first morning I came upon this bike locked to the parking meter post and it appears someone run over it. I do have to wonder though, was it an omen? Because you see, the next day my camera slipped off my shoulder and hit the sidewalk only to be .... 'Broken'

'Broken'

A fantastic image!!!
Looks like the bike damage was not due to an accident.

Thanks Manglesphoto, I agree, I think someone ran over it with their car.

That is a fascinating picture telling 1,000 words, Dave. Wow!

Dali did droopy clocks and Dave does droopy wheels.
"Bike gets wrecked" were the only three words I thought were needed my man.
Well spotted indeed.

My sympathies to your camera but it made a grand last shot.
I can see so much potential for this shot to be turned into a good piece of art, but as it is, I must agree, a story of a thousand words.

Did the broken camera give you an excuse to buy a new and improved camera, or did you send it off to get repaired?

Thanks Linda !!! My thinking too, a 1000 words.

As with me and my accident, to what Forest Gump always says "Stupid is as Stupid does"

I thought about a replacement Jim, but I sent it off to Nikon for repairs for it to return to me by this Tuesday with a $335.00 bill.

At least your camera can be fixed...for a price, however! Maybe you can stay away from broken things for a while, so that "bad juju" doesn't rub off! :-) Must be an interesting back-story on this bike..

Cool shot, Dave, I missed that one. I do have one of a bicycle with a seat that appears to have come from a merry go round though. New Orleans is full of surprises.

Well done.

I wish knew what the back story was ... I'm sure there is more.
