My friend did and they told him if it is not in the manual then it can't be done, then they hung up on him.

Both my friend and I own the new Nikon D500 and have come across a problem with our D500's.

The issue is when in live view and the touch screen is active you can focus on a subject by touching the screen then when you take your finger off the screen it takes a photograph. When a flash is attached to the camera while doing the touchscreen method the flash will not fire, however if I press the shutter release instead of the touchscreen the flash fires.

Has anyone who owns a D500 found this problem and have a solution.

Let's not get off topic about how we should never buy the latest and greatest for just this reason.

I rely heavily on my SB800s and 900. Hope you are wrong.

I am afraid we are not wrong about the SB-800 used as on-camera flash, there is a problem. I imagine if this is reported wide enough Nikon could fix it with a firmware update for the camera.
