Hi All! - I hope you don't mind me chiming in here... I work for SmugMug and thought I might be of assistance.

For openers, RT - it would probably be very helpful to all that are here trying to help you if you actually linked the URL for the image/s you're seeing the issue with. That way we could all look at the images in the various browsers. :D And we could also see if the issue was universal or local to some setting on your system.

Jeep Daddy was spot on in referencing the color space - and sRGB is reliably presented in the major browsers: Chrome, Safari, FireFox and Internet Explorer.

Peter from NH also makes a very valid point - to which it's important that you also reveal which version of IE you're using... if it is an older one, you are best served updating to the latest V and Build.

I'd also like to assure PELHA that all of the photos that they've uploaded to SmugMug, and for that matter just about any other existing site or service (Facebook/Flickr/Twitter etc), look magnificent on pretty much every current operating system, browser AND computer. :D

Kuzano > Thanks for the grins. :D

And finally, RT - whatever the issue, when in doubt you can always write us directly. The SmugMug support heroes are on call 24/7/365 - they'll usually respond to your email questions in about 15 minutes! (help@smugmug.com) - They will DEFINITELY be able to diagnose the trouble for you.

Okay all you Ugly Hedgehoggers, I appreciate you're letting me chime in. :D Thanks!

I uploaded a photo gallery into Smugmug. A few of the pictures didn't look like the same as the JPEG that I uploaded- they were "washed out". After on-line chatting with smugmug, we saw a difference in looking at the gallery in Google vs IE- google looked "normal".
Any experiences with this? must be something in IE I need to tweak to see it correctly?
First time this has come up- or I've never noticed before

RT

Lost me a little, IE is a browser, Google is a search engine.

Not with my own images, but even using Google for both images look different using IE vs FireFox vs Chrome vs etc. Bing yields different results in searches than Google as well.

I have my system, i.e., Photoshop, to always be in sRGB color space mode. Fairly typical I would imagine. Only thing I really change much is between 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit.

All,

Thanks for the input- I've been working with smugmug- no solution found
IE 11 being used
SRGB being used
Chrome vs Google- my apologies
On my PC the IE version is washed out- that's what the screenshots showed on the previous page - I don't see it in the Chrome version
Apparently smugmug doesn't see it so I'm not sure what setting etc in my IE is the problem- solution- avoid IE :)
