So far we have planted hollyhock, white salvia, bee balm, blazing star, heather, armeria, dianthus, and pincushion flowers and hope to add several more such as joe pye weed and agastache.! This is new to us as we have mainly concentrated on annuals in baskets because of the wildlife, and from what we have read and been told, not expecting much for at least this year, because of the saying, perennials sleep the first year, creep the second, and leap the third year.

Plenty of digging done there! You will be surprised how quickly they grow.looking forward to seeing the flowers next year. :-D
LOL... Corky, I did get a chuckle from some of these, especially your pot heads!!! I only plant perennials and always tell people the first year they sleep, then creep, then leap!!! I only plant a few annuals in a planter in the front of the house and some lantana in the back for the butterflies!! I planted bee balm 2 years ago and it's doing great. I do all my planting in large pots, it makes it easier and I really don't have much garden area to put them in, but we did find a small section where I planted daffodils!!
You will enjoy this garden Corky and I'm not familiar with deer resistant plants, but I hope you planted some!
Thanks for sharing with me and don't forget, I want to see some shots when they are in bloom and also when the butterflies land!!

Thanks for looking Sylvia and I hope that it works out. We normally plant so many annuals in baskets that we can't hardly travel in the heat of summer, because be we need to be around to water them. I'm sure we will still do about the same as we just can't seem to resist!

I do wish you would stop talking in a foreign lingo, Corky. They should look great in a few months. :-) :-)
Angela, I would like you to know that they are Walmart's finest serving bowels; purchased all they had yesterday--nine red ones and eight blue ones at eighty eight cents each. What a deal! Many of the plants are suppose to be deer resistance, and guess we will find out soon enough! Speaking of butterflies landing, I had just finishing planting the scabiosa pink pincushion (the tallest pink blooming one) when a tiger swallowtail landed on one of the blooms a went over each bloom at least once. I ran and retrieved the SX50 and took several shots, and then carried it back into the house--big mistake, as Bella went and stood beside the plant while the butterfly was still there. I ran back in and again grabbed the camera but to late , the butterfly had flown! I'll have to put the card back into the computer and download these as, I forgot about doing so today, so will send later. Thanks again and take care!

You're too funny Corky!! I had to take another look at your garden and see the serving bowls!! That was smart thinking and yes, a bargain for sure!! You need to bring your camera with you every time you go outside. As soon as I pick up my camera Buster knows we're going out back. You never know what you'll see!! I'm glad you were able to catch the butterfly, I'll look for your post!!

Thanks Earl, I hope so , but probably need some of that good Australian topsoil to give them a quick start! Take care!
Looking forward to seeing the end results, Corky!
Thankd, Sue and so far so good! :-D
