Why is it Sigma always needs some kind of updates and remote pod to operate???

It's called fine tuning opposed to you have what you have.

My Tamrons and Tokina work perfectly right out of the boxes.

These are simply firmware updates to improve the performance of the lens, not to operate it. The beauty of the dock, is being able to do it over the internet, vs. shipping it off to the manufacturer for the updates.

Not only the firmware updates, but the dock is also the means to set customized modes for the lens. I have C1 set to focus fastest with accuracy the second priority and C2 as a slightly slower (?) focus but greater emphasis on accuracy. I haven't tried any of the other settings but I've very pleased with my purchase of the 150-600 C lens. And as another poster mentioned, using the dock is infinitely easier than sending the lens in and/or working on a transmission. :-)

You built my case for the Tamron & Tokina Lenses.
They need no updates or tweaking.
They work perfect right out of the box.

I believe your bias is preventing you from seeing the facts and likely just trying to justify what you own.

No, I have owned 2 Sigmas and sold them.
I know the Sigma 150-600mm are fine Lenses but obviously need constant updating.

I agree with your comment 100 percent. Bias and inability to see another persons point of view is his handicap.

No again, I have tried Sigmas and did not crae for them.
So I alone I guess have the experience with all 3 Lenses and am the best to speak on the subject.

What are your credentials and DATA as an expert other then saying you tried them and did not care for them? That is a irrational statement without hard data. .

I have seen your work and you are definitely not the one to question someone's experience.

Lets stick to being rational and talking about lenses.. Before I purchased any 150-600 lens, I ran resolution charts on all available options before making a decision. Let me see your data that you used to determine your irrational rant. Your rant" I have seen your work and you are definitely not the one to question someone's experience.", Well, I have taught photography at a University for 12 years and have had many "Best Of Shows" in competitions. I also was the winner out of 243 entries for "The Photowalk" at the Fermilab. What is your experience to question my experience?

My experience is simple, 56 yrs.
I simply do not like Sigma Lenses.
