Good stuff to be sure, but I would have do disagree with your "best" statement. Too many other great guitarists............
And then, of course, there is Tommy Emmanuel.
I recently got to see the remaining Doors in Concert. I am making a separate post about it.

Huge Trower fan here.
He's the reason I bought a Cream on Cream Strat in my teens. I learned his whole Live in Stockholm album and wore it out.
PS: Sorry your thread turned into a debate on who's the best guitarist but you know how the internet is...it brings out the boor in folks.

Always been one of my favorites.
I'm glad for everyone looking, as with all things there really is no "best". Ginger or Maryann?
I listen to everything and was just hoping to share a great guitarist that many have never heard of.
Hope everyone enjoyed his music.
He is by far my favorite guitarist. Seen him three times and was lucky enough to see him again last year in Sacramento at a tiny little club. He hasn't lost a note. He does make it look so easy, but that's what great masters do. I agree with rpavich, it's a shame a person just can't post an opinion without someone wanting to make an argument out of it. Like many people I'm sure, always wanted to audition for Dewar's spot as singer. Good times!
Many, many others for me. Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Townsend, Rush, Bonnamasa, Sabicas, Paco de Lucia, Di Meola, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Mcglauhlin, Rittenour
..and more. True masters and trail blazers.

I don't see very many people arguing. The OP told us who his favorite guitarist is, I don't see anything wrong with others telling us who their favorite is. I have learned about a couple other guitarists I want to check out. Most people have expressed respect for other's choices, only a few have made it an argument.
