Just checked , Actually it was B&H photo I got mine from . But I'd buy from Adorama too.

Guaranty you that A TC,especially a 2X on your 28-300 will not make you happy,if it works well enough to get any kind of a dark pic at all.


Another thought: some TC's may damage your glass when you try to mount it.

Good catch, what a site to keep for future references. thanks for the info,
I guess that idea is out. now what are you going to do now? ya I know buy a good tele. lens, problems is I am semi retired from photography and my days of buying equipment is limited. unless I hit it BIG.

It's been said in some other threads here that some third party teleconverters may fit without damaging a variable aperture zoom, but at a considerable loss of image quality.
If you are not photographing fast moving subjects, or making large prints, an inexpensive T2 mount telephoto is an option, also a prime or zoom mirror lens.
