Seriously, it might help your fellow Nikon Hogs if you stated exactly which Nikon lenses you're planning to mate it to AND whether you want a 1.4x or 2.0x.

Where is that coming from?
I believe it normal for people to purchase a teleconverter to use on particular lens or lenses. It is nice to know the brand and type of lens in order to ensure compatibility.

I will be using it on my Nikon D610 AFS 28-300 lens I need to check to see if it will work with my lens and camera.

I've just (last week) purchased a Kenko N-AF 1.4x teleplus pro 300 DGX for $130 new from Adorama.
I have a D610 and got this because it seemed to work with more of the lenses I had than the Nikon variants.
If you want to ask any questions about it I'll try to help.
I don't think if works for focal length below 70mm though.
