There are so many things to try at car shows! If it's an outdoor show, be sure to take your circular polarizing filter and use it to cut through glare-causing reflections.
Try photographing small details, not just the entire car. Sometimes an interesting crest, tail fin, grill, or window shape can make fascinating pictures.
Sound like a really fun thing to do, I can't wait for the next one in my area! Have fun!

Also fun is to shoot the reflections in the various bits of chrome.

Watch out for sun glare if outside and reflections whether in or out.

Go early so there is less crowd to get in your way.
Include some low angle shots (Kneeling down).

Look for different tailights as well as reflections in the mirrors. Most of all have a great time. Look forward to seeing your posts.

all advice is good especialy go early. not only for the less harsh light but to be able to take full body shots of the cars without having some jerks walk right through your photo as you are taking it. in addition the close up details such as hood ornaments or tailfins really make interesting shots. post what you got when you come back.cars are a very popular thread on the hog.

Fun Fun Fun! One of my favorite kinds of shoots! I love hood ornaments. I'm often laying on the ground so dress appropriately. Knee pads are good! I love my wides angle lens a 10-22mm, and my 400mm. It really isolates a hood ornament and gives a beautiful soft surrounding boarder. Enjoy!

This is what I'm saying about using my 400mm. The beautiful Blue is someone walking behind it a few feet with a blue shirt/jacket on.

With those shiny cars youll be in most of your shots. Look for yourself looking back at you in that shiny paint and crome. But dont forget those close up shots of hood ornaments, wheels, pin striping and those crome motors. I have mor photos than I can count of car shows and race cars.
