OK, so we all have taken lots of great photos in our day, right? I know it's nearly impossible to select only 3 of your best photos, but let's have fun with this thread anyways and put 3 of your best photos on. Each individual will have a different mindset and different styles of their photography. They don't have to be your "very best" but just what you consider 3 of your many "BEST" photos.
I have lots of photos that I consider my best and these are three of them. Please download these.
I'm looking forward to what you will be coming up with and anticipating some amazing photos. GO FOR IT!

I like the small mood you have going today pfrancke. Great shots. I presume the first one is a tarantula? I have to ask you what camera and lens were you using? Amazing clarity.

LOL - it is a small dirty, disgusting, dead spider about 1/4 inch across - I don't know what kind it is.
For my macro work, I often use the MP-E 65mm lens on a refurbished Canon 6D. I am certain cheaper cameras would be just as effective (but that doesn't keep me from wanting a monster sensor with more pixels ).
The secret to those macro shots was in taking multiple shots and stacking/blending them together. And another closely guarded secret even more important (true for most genres of photography) is the lighting. In this case diffused lighting.
I feel those images I presented can be further improved with proper cropping and better post processing - Given time I will figure out how to do that - which in turn are just a few reasons why I think this is such a great place to hang out!

That MP-E 65mm lens is over a grand. I presume you use it a lot. I have the 6D and am very happy that I have the monster sensor with more pixels too. The three photos you posted are pretty amazing so maybe the money is well spent. The tricky part I think would be the lighting on your subjects. yeah, hanging out at UHH is a good thing for learning all kinds of things.

What can I say other than a great idea for a thread!!
One devoted simply to excellence for whatever reason rather than mediocrity disguised with special effects.
It is my pleasure to join your party and hope many more follow to show what they can do with their proper photography head.
Im strong on technical excellence if you cannot achieve that learn it. Its not rocket science and if you do not understand your camera and possess some editing ability your the proud owner of photographic paperweight.
When finished these three meager attempts at excellence were as good as I felt I could make them. Maybe as my skill improves Ill go back back in future years to improve them further. For now its as good as it gets from a rather less than skillful Billy.

Good ones Brent. I like the light refractions happening in the first one. And... you don't like the sea by any chance, do you?
Here are mine. Impossible to pick three but - the Shelby because I like nice cars. The second is Sydney Harbour (lived there for a decade and loved it). The third is the Cuckmere Valley (Sussex UK) a lovely tranquil spot. Oh dear... you should have made it four then I could have stuck one of Noelene on as I am rather "fond" of her as well.
