A few hints about paper:
1.) Every photographer has their preferred paper, just like every photographer used to have their preferred film (back in the day).
2.) A sample pack is an excellent way to make several identical prints on different papers for comparison purposes.
3.) I mount ALL of my 13x19-inch color prints behind glass. Once so mounted, it is very difficult to tell the difference of one paper from another. I buy my frames from Aaron Brother when they advertise half-off sales.
I ordered the Red River sampler and it has arrived. I'm impressed with it and will give it a good try.

Please consider printing the same image on different papers, then posting your impressions about how the different paper finishes effected the printed results.
For B&W, Red River Polar Pearl Metallic, hands down.
I have used Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II for years. No problems at all.

Red River sample packs. Have been using their papers exclusively for over ten years. They also have free printer profiles. Good luck
I agree 100% concerning Canon Paper+ Glossy II. Have used it for many years, no problems ever!
I got the sample packs of Red River paper and I'm now a convert to their papers. There prices are very good as well.
