Your statement about no safely remove icon intrigued me so I checked my system with one of the many drives I carry with me daily. Soon as I insert my flashdrive a window appears showing my drive and the folder structure within that drive. I checked the notification area and there is a small icon shaped like the flashdrive for safely remove. Are you installing all Windows updates?

Yes all updates have been applied. What my problem was a not updated card reader driver even though Win 10 reported it as up to date. I downloaded and ran a driver from Acer, a realtek multicard reader driver and the device works fine now. What sort of clued me in was that other USB devices were recognized and the safely remove hardware notification would pop up as its supposed to. Strangely everything worked fine in Win 7 Pro 64 before the upgrade.......Goofy Technology!!

I am having trouble with understanding the Win 10 tech advisors. Their native language is not English, and the version they speak, I don't understand very well.

Anyone know how to reach a English primary speaker?

Thanks,

Z

Something you have to be careful when talking to this kind of support, I think they are from foreign country. Don't give them any personal information.

The only "word processor" Windows ever had was Notepad. It was never intended to replace Microsnot Word or any of the other full blown word processors out there. The only way to get Word is to buy MS Office.

Are you not forgetting WordPad? It's been free with Windows for some time and still available with Windows 10. Cut back version of Word, very cut back but better than notepad.

I've been using Open Office ever since Microsoft started charging for Word. It opens and converts all my old Word files. And it is free:

Edit: I corrected the URL.

Absolutely! The best thing is that I can use my MS office files from work, on my open office at home. Most things convert perfectly, once in a while, an unsupported font will goof up the way it looks, but that's pretty easy to either add a font, or change the font in the work area.

I am not very happy with windows 10 I updated from a windows 7. Its ashamed that windows 7 could not just be able to be updated. Windows 10 Is just plain too complicated. Some of my friends have discarded windows 10 for Mac books.
After I updated I realized there was no word Processor. Like windows 7 had. How do other people like the change?

Hi I feel the same way about how to manage Photos from the upgrade to Windows 10 I am having trouble with getting a Microsoft email I have secured about 8 or9 emails every time I use the pass word It won't acknowledge it. I Put 'forgot my password' They gave me a half of my main email and told me they would send my Password to me if it was correct..Never came

I've been using Windows 10 for about three weeks now, it came preloaded on my Lenovo Tablet/Laptop. The Edge Browser started acting up the other day and so I took the computer back to a Restore Point that I had enabled a few days earlier. I absolutely hate Windows File Explorer and so downloaded and paid for "File Browser" which is more along the lines of what I like.
I couldn't import my Safari Bookmarks into Edge, but ironically I could import it into Internet Explorer and then from Internet Explorer into Edge. Go figure.

I'm use to using iPhoto on my Mac and was able to locate something similar for my Windows 10 PC.
Phototheca and I paid for the full license, only $19.95.
