To the writer of this stupid statement:
Suppose you take a Picture, post it on your website with prints for sale - then every one instead of buying your print they copy your photograph and put it up for sale they make the money and you don't make anything -are you going to be happy?
What in the heck are you thinking?

How about another wrinkle?

There are live web cams from different cities all over the internet; just showing random people walking down a sidewalk, or sitting at a cafe. What if someone captures a still image from one of these sites and then tries to market it?

I imagine that the copyright laws are very different for something like this, as compared to a commercial TV program. It seems like it would be very similar to being on a sidewalk in person and shooting shots of random people walking by ... but they'd never see you. You might be in Miami and they might be in NY city, not even aware they are being caught on a camera of any kind.

I have dealt with this before.
Legally you have violated the copyright.
Morally I believe that no one has the right to steal anyone elses work regardless of where they see it.

Last night I was watching "Animal Planet;" My camera was nearby; so I pushed the pause button and took a dozen or so pictures. Many of them were really bad--but some came out
pretty good not "show" quality, but decent snapshots.
QUESTION: Whose pictures are they ? Should I write to the station for permission ? Could I exhibit them at the county fair ?
IF another person wanted a print, could I sell it ? Could I give it away ?
