Tiny Monhegan Island sits 10 miles off the Maine coast, and has been home to fishermen for 300 years, during which time their sea-focused lifestyle has remained oddly unchanged. I visit annually and while I'm still an outsider, I have developed a love for this place that keeps me coming back and exploring deeper each time.

A Sense of Place: Let's Study and Share!HOW TO CRITIQUE:
Think about your emotional response along with the usual technical considerations.
- Emotionally I'm overwhelmed and want to know where you sell these.
Also, are the images connected in terms of subject and processing to form a series?
- The first image is striking, almost ethereal, yet invites me in and makes me want to explore.
- The second is an amazing transition and gives the impression that you've walked down the hill aways.
- The third ties in well and gives a feeling of ending the story, or does it begin again?
Are they alike/different enough to be interesting as a group?
- The three, by location, atmosphere and post processing are alike enough to believe they are from a single day in time.
Do the images tell a story?
- The images tell the story of a slow day in a harbor town and make me want to know more!
What suggestions do you have for the photographer?
- Other than sell these I would ask that you consider placing a key element, like the boy from the second, in all three to tie them together.
Thank you for sharing and getting this started. With the gloves off this will be a hard one to follow! S-
