No, you wouldn't need anything else (except of course a Canon lens) to take IR pictures. No filters. It's a 720 nm converted IR camera.

I have plenty of canon lenses... I am busy scanning the website you mentioned, and what I gather is, you have to focus using live view unless the lens is specially calibrated too? Am I understanding that right?

I am definitely interested, but really need to sell my 7D first (my signature line is out of date...). I have a friend who has 'first refusal', and he is coming to see the gear tomorrow. If he buys it, and you still have yours available, maybe we can talk turkey...

I have older canon lenses:
18-55
55-200
100-300 Tamron

One site talks about lens calibration which seems too complicated for me.....but if you can pop existing lenses on, that would be super......

Was it calibrated with a particular lens? Could I use my old EF 35-70 3.5-4.5? from my old EOS 650 film camera?

My L lenses are too heavy.

Glad to hear it sold ok. I was feeling bad, because the more I read on the LifePixel site, the more I was feeling that I really want their 'super colour' filter. I had been really interested in yours, and didn't want you to think I had been stringing you along.

If I can organize the funds, I am planning on getting a used camera on eBay and sending it off to get it converted myself. You have awakened another area of interest for me! Thanks...

Go for it! IR photography is fun. BTW, it doesn't have to be with DSLR,one can also convert and use P&S cameras. My first IR converted camera was Panasonic Lumix P&S.

That is an excellent price on that camera. I have a converted 2Ti and I love the results. They also do amazing portraits give the effect of IR on skin.

Is the Canon IR body still for sale? If so I'm very much interested & what payment would you like?
