Thank you, it is such a lovely shot. Just did a touch here and there.

Thank you RB. It's amazing what a few light touches can do when skilfully applied  .

Thanks for contributing, Jerry. I don't usually go for such strong colours in my own edits, but it's amazing to see how much can be drawn out of the originals, and I'm glad you showed me an alternative.

Thanks for the chance to work on this, R.G.

Glad you enjoyed, Shakey. It's nice to know there's detail aplenty if I want to go looking for it  .

You're right about this one, Jim - it's not what I had in mind - but it's very similar to other shots of the cliffs I've edited, where I used subdued colours with an emphasis on the mistiness. I think the scene suits your treatment, giving it added softness.

Not so different :-)

Very nice shot RG thanks for the chance to play!

What a great atmosphere, Lloyd. I think it proves once and for all that there is indeed water on Mars :-) .

Thanks for the fiddle tim. I thought it might look neat as a night time photo. I worked it in PS CC 2015 along with the ACR filter.

What a great effect, CajonPhotog. It's got me thinking that I should get myself down there the next full moon  .

Processed with LR3 and CS5 using the jpg post.

Used various sliders in LR to lighten and tint the photo.

In CS5 did a few copy and pastes in the sky, and then used the mixer brush to blend the paste into the surrounding clouds.

No more backlighting, which I miss from the original.
Noise control was a big problem and did as much as I could to correct some of it.

Interesting the upload has darkened.

Thanks for contributing, Gaylord. I eventually got all 18MB downloaded :-) . The tiff file really glows in a way that the UHH image doesn't. I think the sky's plenty bright in a way that doesn't grab too much attention.

I didn't have any particular plan in mind when I took this shot, but I think there might be potential of sorts in there somewhere. And there's a decidedly blown patch in the clouds to help you keep your hand in.

I'm planning on turning this one into a keeper, so I'd be interested in seeing what you can make of it.

JPG here, DNG to follow.

Not sure what you are liking out of the assortment provided by other Hogs but here is my go at it.
I did this on my mac. All done in Photoshop but all same sliders in Lightroom. *Special Note: When I set my white balance I held the command key down while sliding the slider to the right until I saw just a bit of black showing in the white work space. I then went to the black slider and held command key while moving the slider to the left. Jim

Thanks for contributing, Jim-Pops.

I'm always interested in other people's interpretations, whether they conform to my personal likes or not. I think your handling of the extreme light levels is well controlled. I see you went left with Highlights to subdue the glare and you went right with the whites to keep the shininess. I seem to remember doing something similar for my own (ongoing) edit.

Thanks also for the edit info.

Thank you everybody for your interest and contributions. This is my edit so far, although I'll probably come back to it for a few "last" adjustments (I always tell myself that'll be it, but somehow..... :-) ).

Ah! It begins to sing and the sound of the surf is gentle on the ears. Excellent R.G.

Thanks again, Jim.

(I've heard the surf in an image a few times, but I've never had one sing to me :-) ).

The song is in the clouds and you should be attuned to hear it as I'm certain you were when you got them just so. It's a gentle floating tune with undulating counter melodies.
