Great conservation on your part; all wildlife needs protection from human encroachment. As I write, a huge, beautiful, healthy cottonwood tree is being attacked by chain saws intent on leaving no trace of it; it was a great pleasure for my wife and I to sit in the back yard and listen to the wind rustle through its leaves, and to see the myriad flocks of birds frolicking and feeding among its branches. No more. Sad.

Great shots,wow 3 together.We have them in the UK and i have heard them but never ever seen one.

Excellent shot. You should frame it. They are funny birds aren't they? Remember a trip to CA where I saw them for the first time. All the telephone poles were riddled with holes, and I couldn't figure out why until someone told me about these little critters.
