Went from Win 7 pro to Win 10 pro. First day, no internet connection...next morning, all was well. Suspect they sent the update during the night. No problems since June.

Thanks very much. When I do the install, maybe I'll start in the evening.

:?: :?: How can MS have updated your Win 10 if you had no Internet connection?

NP.
I do have one strong suggestion. Get some Cloning software; I use Acronis, and clone your HD BEFORE you attempt to install Win 10.

The lack of internet happened after the download to win 10 Pro

Right. But you said that you suspect they sent an update during the night to fix the problem but how could they have done that if you didn't have an Internet connection?

They obviously fixed my problem and theinternet was restored. I can't explain it, it just happened that way. Could have just as likely been a local glitch in my internet.

Possibly your computer just needed a reboot. Well,, as long as it's working.

I downloaded Windows 10 on one laptop and all went well and I like it. I tried to download it on another laptop with Windows 7 and it wouldn't download. It stated there was a compatibility issue. My wife has a laptop with Windows 7 and I told her to NOT download Windows 10 because I don't want to be interrupted every 10 minutes with a Windows 10 question. "If it's not broken why fix it" is my philosophy in this instance.
