Thanks very much for the kind words, and so glad that you liked Sue. This is Corky and am sure that you guys had a great Christmas and please be careful heading home! I just called my niece in Texas to make sure everything was OK, and also two of their daughters were driving down from Denver, Colorado, but all are OK! Take care!

Thanks so very much for the kind words, Floyd and really appreciate you looking! The juveniles should look similar to the attachment below when they mature. Are they the ones that you are speaking of?
No. These are mature birds. In this area, we only have tri-color herons, night herons and egrets. Notice in the 3rd picture the green mating color that is absent in the first two. Secondly, these egrets are white from birth and the herons are blueish in color when hatched. I still believe you've beautifully captured egrets.

Floyd, In the areas that we visited in Florida we saw the Great Egret 35-41",and the Tri-colored Herons,25-30". These are the ones in your captures. We also saw the Cattle Egret, 20",The juvenile and the mature Little blue Herons,25-30", the Snowy Egret,20-27",the Reddish Egret,30", the Great Blue Heron,39-52", the Little Green Heron,16-22" The Spoonbills,30-32" ,the Sandhill Cranes,34-48", the Wood Storks 40-44" and the White and also the Glossy Ibis, 22-27", but were not fortunate enough to see any Night Herons. Take care!
We also saw a few Alligators!!
I hate playing catch up, but I'm glad I went back the three pages that I missed to see these beautiful shots of yours, Corky! Wonderful captures and super downloaded!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family!
:)

These were taken in early November at the Savannas Recreation Area, which is located in St. Lucie County in Florida. The Herons were feeding on some very small prey that I was unable to identify. (maybe small minnows or brine shrimp.)
Great series Corky, love the colors, composition and details, very well done. Looks like a great place.

We did Angela and I hope that you did also, and thanks for the compliments , and so glad that you like. I think that I am behind about a page or so also, as we have been tidying up a bit, as Ellen's niece and her husband should arrive from Southwest Virginia any minute now. Thanks again and take care!

Thanks so very much for the kind words Greg and really appreciate you looking! PS- Several of those captures may look familiar as you kindly double checked their identity for me.

Amazing set Corky! Were you shooting from a blind; they are all posing so naturally and don't seem spooked at all. Downloads are great my friend!

Thanks very much for the kind words and two thumbs up Jim, but learned about an area that was kind of off the beaten path, but still fairly close to the campsite. It seemed to be a section that could be reserved for special occasions, with a shelter, picnic tables, etcetera, but at this time was not being used, so I just moved slowly and kept a reasonable distance away from the birds.
