We have a very old and large cedar tree located close the water that is loaded with berries. I walked outside several days ago and kept hearing a sound similar to that made when snow or ice is melting from a tree and hitting the ground, and finally realized that a very large flock of Waxwings were feeding on the berries from the tree and the noise came from the many berries hitting the ground. Looked up and saw a beautiful sight!

These are some of the better photos of Cedar Waxwings that I've seen. They are hard to photograph.

Fantastic series, Corky! They are such stunning birds.

I'm fortunate to have them visit right outside my apt. where they drop the half-bitten fruit onto sidewalks for residents to track in onto carpets :) :|

Very nice. I love those little birds. I got them a couple of weeks ago eating little red berries. What a set that was. I had never taken pictures of them with the berries so I was very excited.

Thanks flyguy, and I appreciate you taking the time to comment. My wife and debated including the last one, but decided that it was so different from what is normally seen!

Thanks for the kind words Linda, and sorry about the deposits, but on the positive side that's a good notice to grab the camera! We thought about you when trying to decide which images to post, because we needed some good suggestions on the best way to show off some of the beautiful and plentiful berries in a few of the captures!

Way to go jeep_daddy, I have tried several times when they were in our holly trees, with very little success. They wood look so good when viewing them on the tree, but the images would be mostly holly limbs and leaves! Think I just got lucky on these. Thank you very much for the kind words and looking. Take care!
