MOM?

Yeah, that's what I refer to Admin as. Mom, she look looks over everything, makes sure we play nice, moves us when we're in the wrong spot, answers your guestions when she's listening.
I guess you get the point. Just a funny nickname to go with her/his picture.

:D

I created a new section on the forum: General Chit-Chat.
The section is meant for discussions not related to photography.
So if you feel like talking about life in general, please feel free to post there.

You can find the section here.

P.S. On an unrelated note: I'm working on setting up a search page for the forum. It should be done in about a week.

May I also suggest a Critic's Corner? A place where you put up your photo's for Critique.
Have one for each day or maybe just each week, and let it be an open forum where everyone can put their photo's up and anyone who wants to look at them can critique on which ever one they like/dislike make suggestions etc.

I feel it would be easier to get around to seeing and making comments on all the photo's that go up on the forum. Like one stop shopping.

Would like to hear back on others about this idea. Maybe some tweeking of the thought, Thanks

Hey Sinatraman - like your latest avatar. It looks as if you visited Graceland and bought the plate - what about the t-shirt

We all have a few very special T shirts stashed somewhere that have particularly goony stuff on them ... I know I do. They just don't FIT any more or I'd be wearing them!

My husband has a John Wayne belt buckle AND a John Wayne plate AND a GIGANTIC photo taken of him when Garry interviewed him in 1978 (? I think?) at Harvard AND we have a huge "Searchers" poster in our bedroom. Don't knock the plate. Or the Duke. Or the King. Or any other royalty :-)

Not knocking royalty at all, in fact you and Chuck fit into that class with your life experiences. Back to the King - I first saw him on TV on the Tommy Dorsey show. My life changed at that moment. The Duke epitomizes basic moral standards. His style is something to emulate

I am very happy for both of you. Insidious cancers have taken too many of my friends.

I remind myself that we are all going to die of something, it's just a matter of what and when ... I just would prefer it be later rather than sooner. A LOT later, if i have anything to say about it.

So, I follow the regimen. I take the drugs. I follow up. I am a compliant patient. But it is time consuming, annoying, sometimes painful, unpleasant and INCREDIBLY BORING. Illness is not merely not fun: it is stupifying. I get tired of talking about it. I get tired of the sound of my own voice! I am sure that everyone who has had a serious illness knows exactly what i mean.

I think I'm fine, but none of us really ever knows. I probably had cancer for years before it was officially diagnosed. I didn't know, so I didn't worry. So I remind myself: human life has a beginning -- birth -- and an end -- death. It is 100% for everyone. While i am HERE, I am going to have as much fun and do the most I can with the time i have!

This is not intended to sound morbid, but it's a reality: we are all in God's hands and we have to have a bit of faith that whatever will be, it will be the right thing.
