Thanks very much for the kind words and the two thumbs up Earl, and if you have the opportunity maybe you could post one sometime, or I can check if you have previously posted any!

Corky, I have posted them several times, but it was a fair while ago, & I would have to find them. However, this pic was in one of the posts. Hope you don't mind. Earl.

Very good pictures Korky,, the light may have been a tad flat but for me they look very natural,

We arrived at the Savannas Recreation Center campground in Florida Campground and spotted some very large birds that turned out to be Sandhill Cranes. The campers beside us said that the birds were very tame and visited the campgrounds daily. It was near dark, but be took some pictures of them anyway and planned to attempt to take some with better lighting before we left, but didn't follow through, but must post anyway, as these were on our bucket list!

Not at all, Earl I appreciate you posting them and they are beautiful and think that I remember seeing them and thinking the same about the likeness.

Very nice - welcome to Florida! Lots of big birds, especially hanging out at the edges of the water. Have fun and show us more photos of your trip.

Actually, Geoff, it was very close to being completely dark, and I wish so much that I had taken some shots under better conditions the next day. Take care!

Thanks Steve, We made our first trip about four years ago and love it. Thanks goodness we live on a beautiful little cypress lined river near Williamsburg, VA. but we do not have the great number of species that you guys do, and am always thinking about our next trip down!

Some fine shots here Corky. I like the lighting as it is. I've always liked contrast in photos. Nice work. See and dragons down there? There season may be over down there too.

I don't remember seeing any at this location, but would bet that some were there, because we were probably only 100+ miles North of Miami. We did see quite a few on Merritt Island and they were moderate in size and always seemed to be flying low an in a somewhat straight line, but never really could get a good look at them.
