Using the Tamron 150-600mm. All at 600mm and most cropped severely at 1:1. In the last few days of November, the east coast of the US has been very warm, bringing much activity among wildlife.

These are all handheld, as usual :)

These are great shots! Did you have the ISO set ob auto or did you change it for each shot?

Nice set of shots. You could sharpen them up with the use of a tripod though. Like the one of the deer.

Impressive picture Fullframe, may ask if those were manual settings?

I agree, tripod helps stabilize and get sharper shots. But light was bad so I don't know if a tripod would have helped a lot at 1/800 sec. A proper shutter speed would have ISO through the roof, which would destroy a sharp shot anyway.

I'm lucky I got that one handheld and panning at 600mm on a moving object.

i use the Tamron 150-600 on a 7D Mk II, and often shoot BIFs in manual at 1/1000-1/1250, f/7.1 with auto ISO... many shots at ISO 1600-3200, they come out fine. the 5DIII handles high ISO even better than the 7DII, so similar settings should be no challenge at all for the 5DIII.

I appreciate your comment Squirl. I agree 5dm3 handles high ISO great. But every situation is different. In this particular situation ISO 2000 produced a lot of noise, which I had to work at reducing in post. On the flip side I have shot at ISO 8000 in decent light and had acceptable noise.
