For gearheads -
We were visiting good friends and attending the Syrup Festival in Henderson, Texas, a couple of weekends ago. The festival included a car show and naturally us guys headed that way. Lots of old cars, rods, etc., but this particular car blew the others away as far as I was concerned. The builder was a retirement age amateur (older guys rule!) and said this was his first effort. He started with a '39 Ford, kept the frame, front fenders/grill/hood, and parts of the rear fenders. The rest is hand-formed sheetmetal. The guy has some mad metal skills and his design work is solid, too.

Look lookin' car, thanks for posting. It could be the precursor to the AC Cobra.

Thanks so much for posting these photos. As a life long, grey bearded motor head, I have to say, this is one of the most original and exceptional takes on a 39-40 Ford I have ever seen. Thanks again.

Nice! I'd love to get low with a wide-angle lens and have a go at that one.

I figured UHH had more than a few gearheads who'd appreciate this guy's work. Always good to share this stuff.

I never knew there was such a thing as a '39 Shelby Cobra.
