Art? Not 100% convinced but will concede to produce stuff like this I start with a blank canvas and add items to it and colour them etc. I have a clear idea of what the finished product will portray and what it should look like. So is that art?
My argument as to what and what is not art comes with a base image that is manipulated in software with no clear idea of where its going to end up. And the software does all the work.
Fine line I know but one could possibly qualify as art its certainly creative the other is a doodle which can make a pleasant picture but remains a doodle.
Ill leave it to you guys to put a label on it I think.

It could not have been put more succinctly. You have set a standard and I think more than I am in agreement with your stated feelings regarding doodles. I agree we see a lot of doodles that do not deserve to be classified as art. Let's call them what they are: doodles.
