I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Billy, but with this and a number of your previous constructs you have not only surpassed your own expectations in the ART world but done so with apparent ease.

You can poo-poo this all day and well into the night and spend the rest of your days doing so and you can shout to heaven above and hell below that you are NOT an ARTIST. If you want to be deluded by that sentiment then be my guest. It's falling on deaf ears. And you know what, I am not the only one who believes this to be true.

Fight, kick and scream all you want - I ---- I mean WE know better. But we do enjoy your creative ways of nay saying. Such modesty!

I love this piece!

I never give up unless it's pointless. lol

A Little Haiku for Billy:

Billy makes pictures
That'll tickle our senses.
Artistic? You bet.

(Thanks Dave, for the intro to this ART form.)

Jim, we all appreciate your continued therapeutic interventions with our poor Billy. Most of us have given up trying to free him from his stubborn denial of his own art, but it is largely because you are doing such a fine job of addressing it. Please keep up the good work. I frequently advise others who are confused about art and photography to refer to your Billy-posts for enlightenment on the subject. I am collecting them for later, when you're ready to start on your book...

Billy is sleeping at the moment and will undoubtedly wake at dawn to find we've been talking behind his back.

The beauty of this moody and evocative piece of non-art is that it could sell in an art gallery in New York for a handsome price. It would be bought and cherished by someone who appreciates photographic art. How sweet, then, the revenge of the non-artist to have profited by this artful deception.

If you love it Jim I know that my creation has been successful.
Art? Not 100% convinced but will concede to produce stuff like this I start with a blank canvas and add items to it and colour them etc. I have a clear idea of what the finished product will portray and what it should look like. So is that art?
My argument as to what and what is not art comes with a base image that is manipulated in software with no clear idea of where its going to end up. And the software does all the work.
Fine line I know but one could possibly qualify as art its certainly creative the other is a doodle which can make a pleasant picture but remains a doodle.

Ill leave it to you guys to put a label on it I think.

If it exercises the brain it means the audience is looking at it in depth which makes it successful to me.
