A few weeks back i posted somewhere on here about taking a spill from my wheelchair and braking my lens. I was wanting to update you with the latest news. Last week i downloaded the paper work from tamron usa just to see if they would cover my lens under the warranty. i told them about me falling from my chair and that the lens jammed at full extension, the motor would try to close it but would not. Also in trying to close it manually the telelphoto collar started to free wheel.

I sent this off on ups thursday, they recieved it on monday and the response was fully covered by warranty. And no charge was imposed. they also said the turnaround time was three days, so i am expecting it back today or tomorrow. Just wanted to let you know about how they handled this and i was very pleased. I was epxpecting to have to pay for this.

WAY TO GO TAMRON!!!!

Good news is always good. Always nice to hear when a company does right, plus it is also a good ad.

Great news normanhall: I'm glad to hear that Tameron stood behind their product and that they are handeling the repair as quickly as they are. I for one will be looking forward to seeing your new pictures with the repaired lens. Glad you shared the news.

Great! And it's nice that you publicized their coverage - and that you got back to us with the results.

the one i have is the 70-300 and love it. It is not a high dollar lens but it takes a great image.

I had the same experience when I had a problem with my telephoto lens. I thought mine was out of warranty and called to ask about price for repair and they told me it was still lunder warranty and to send it and they would repair it. Very quick turn around and extremely satisfied.
