I use the 7D mark II for sports and find it to do a great job. There is leanring curve for sure, have it for about 6 months and still learning. The 7D and some good glass you will be glad you did! Good luck buddy however you go.

That must be the #6 Case setting:)
No really is a wonderful piece of equipment.
When I get shots like these on a consistent basis. I would say yes.
The 7Dii is worth it.

I've been watching this camera for some time now. The refurbished one is on sale at a great price currently.

I've also been watching the Olympus M5 ll and am having trouble deciding between the two.

I currently have a Canon 60D with some canon lenses but have been considering switching to the smaller mirrorless camera line.

What's your experience with the 7D Mk ll and would you re-purchase it again after now having a chance to use it for awhile or would you make the switch?

Appreciate your opinions.

I shoot BIF and wildlife and I sat on the fence with a 7D for a long time too. I bought the 7D MK II and now my wife is shooting the 7D. For what i shoot the only thing that may be better is the 1DX but i would loose the crop factor. I should have bought the 7D MK II sooner!

For what it's worth I have been photographing for more than 60 years almost Nikon exclusive. This past year I decided to switch to Mirrorless top quality camera. Didn't last long and returned to DSLR. Thought I would try something new to me and purchased the Canon 7 D MII. My last Nikon was the D800 but you know what this 7D MII is never out of my hands. I have never enjoyed a camera so much. It is and incredible machine for the price! Love everything about it but it is missing one feature Wi-fi. Why Canon chose to exclude this common feature is really puzzling to me. Hope this gives you some insight on the truly fantastic camera. What ever you choose Enjoy!

The 7DII is a great camera. I got rid of my 1D MKIV to get one of these. It has dual processors and has a super fast focusing system. It shoots much quieter than the pro body and just as fast. The sensor is a much improved sensor over the original 7D and with the crop factor it is great for sports and wildlife. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for any kind of photography, although I have a 5DIII that I will use for everything but sports and wildlife.

DavidM, I bought one last December, large upgrade from my T3i, great wildlife and action camera and good all around camera for most any photographer. ISO capabilities are a bit over rated, but still allowed me to get some indoor shots last Christmas without using flash. Studio work with flash and low ISO is super using good glass. Big learning curve to get the most out of it but the 7Dmk11 does everything I need in a camera at present. Paired with a Canon 100/400 it's capable of excellent shots.

I have spent a lot , and I mean a lot, of bux upgrading over the years. Mostly wasted, with hindsight... The only upgrade that was worth it was from the T70 to digital. Am at the Canon 5 mk II, and looking back, I dont think that most of the upgrades were worth it, and certainly don't think the upgrading to the "L" lenses were. But we do seem to enjoy spoiling ourselves.... I wonder if I will be able to resist the mk III just to get built in lat/long?, well, for how much longer... If it works, dont fix it, but... whatever.. I have owned the 7DMII for a while and would buy it again. I photograph wild horses and would not trade this camera in for anything. The AF is incredible (once you get it set up right) and I can get clear shots of fast moving horses much better than before (had been using a Sony RX-10, which I also love but not so much for things that move). Don't tell Canon but I think the camera is underpriced for what it can do.

I also upgraded from the 7d to the mark ii. The autofocus is awesome and the better low light performance at worth it.
