I've been watching this camera for some time now. The refurbished one is on sale at a great price currently.

I've also been watching the Olympus M5 ll and am having trouble deciding between the two.

I currently have a Canon 60D with some canon lenses but have been considering switching to the smaller mirrorless camera line.

What's your experience with the 7D Mk ll and would you re-purchase it again after now having a chance to use it for awhile or would you make the switch?

Appreciate your opinions.

What do you want to mostly shoot with your new camera?

I own a pair of Olympus M5 ll bodies and while it is a great camera there are better ones around for some subjects (mainly fast action).

One camera back was my 60D still love it. I went to FF with 6D. I have looked at adding the 7D II. I have stop doing sport as much so that consideration has pasted. I have some great glass for the crop but bought some FF glass. If you have great glass for the 60 I would go with the 7. It is highly regarded.

I upgraded from a 7D to the 7D MII. I pre-ordered it as soon as it was possible and received on the first shipment from Adorama. It is great for sports, wildlife, birds - any moving subjects. The AF system is simply killer! Yes. I would buy it again!

I've heard no complaints whatever regarding the Canon 7D Mk II. There is a great hands-on promo video about the 7DII on YouTube that includes input from a Nat Geo wildlife photographer and (I think) a staffer from DPReview - well worth a look.

As for smaller/lighter micro 4/3rds gear, you might want to explore the Olympus OM-D E-M1 as well as Panasonic's G7 or GX8. Good luck.

Keep in mind with the em1 firmware release in November, it's going to get a lot of the same features that the em5ii has. There's only a $100 difference between the two. A new em1 is 999 right now, and I've seen used em1 sell in the $650 range. Make sure use hold one to make sure it fits in your hands.

My website (found by clicking on my user name) has plenty of em1 examples.

Just a couple of months ago, I ordered the 7dmkII. I had the 60d (and still do but do not use now). I'm really enjoying it and all my shots posted here over the last two month have been with the 7dmkII. I'd go with it all over again.

I would definitely buy it again. The auto focus is extremely capable so expect a bit of a learning curve in order to get the most out of it. In the Canon line the only camera that seems to equal it for sports and wildlife is the 1Dx.

David, I have the 7D and love the camera. When the Mark II was advertised, I read the reviews and made the purchase. I have used it for the past 6 months and love it. I especially enjoy photographing birds and wildlife and feel it was definitely worth the cost. This fall I also purchased the new 100-400 and the combination of the two is great. All I have to do is sell the previous 100-400 and I am set for a long time.

I just bought the 7d mk2 and have been shooting with it exclusively to get used to it. I am loving this camera a lot and the layout is just like my 5d mk3 which is one of the resons I bought it. Definitely would buy it again. great camera and great images.

7D Mk II coupled with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II is a killer combo. I have been taking soccer and cross country all fall with this combo and it is simply amazing. Although it is expensive, I am really happy I spent the money on the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II.

Hi all you lucky 7D MII owners - I, also, have been coveting this camera for quite some time. I own the 7D and love it - I always want new toys.
I hear everyone say it is great for wildlife - that is fine but I was wondering about a different kind of wildlife ... Running children and drunk people ? I shoot a lot of parties - and these people are not posing - I have to chase them.
I also shoot equestrian events - I'm assuming it would be awesome for that .. So just wondering about Kids and party people ??? Any thoughts ??

The 7D MII has a special AF system for photographing drunk people. It provides for just the right about of blur and double exposure. :^)
