i did take the sigma back and upgraded to the OS model for $350 more. don't know if i will use it or not..but for $350, i thought i should!

now i will be really good in low light at low shutter speeds

I'm sure that you made a good decision about the os. Let me know how you like it.

i have had the os lens since last saturday. i have taken a few photos..but i have an event scheduled next weekend and i will be able to put it to the test.

it was a hard decision to buy the OS. i had the IS on the canon that i had stolen, but i never used it.

after i bought the sigma..i had had a couple of shots that brought me down to 1/15 and 1/30 shutter speed and i couldn't hold the camera steady enough to get a great shot as i was hand holding the camera. i usually have my monopod with me..but didn't at that opportunity...so i thought i would get the OS.

the tests i have done at 1/15 shutter speed with the OS model have been very sharp....so i am glad i did it.

now i am going to rent the sigma 24-70 2.8 OS lens and compare it to my canon 24-70 2.8 L lens. if i really like it, i will sell my canon lens and buy the sigma.

Keep me posted on that. I'm currently saving for a 24-70 2.8 . I have read a couple of reviews, and am leaning toward the L. Is there any dis satisfaction with the Canon? Is it OS? You have me curious.

nope, no disatisfaction and the canon 24-70mm2.8 L lens does not have IS. so far..my pics with the sigma 70-200 are sharper than my canon L that was stolen. i might be interested in the sigma 24-70mm2.8 OS, as i coulod gain a few stops with OS in very low light. but i am going to rent one first and then put it to the test.

Thanks, but that was a 60D I now have a Tamron 70 -200 2.8 but the camera is owned by the school where I work so I'm trying to get the money together to purchase a 60D, 7D or 5D I won't be at this school next year because of budget cuts. here is a link to some of my other shots http://www.varsitypix.com/schools/madison/?sport=5&
