Here are a few shots from last fall. They were shot at 1/250th 2.8 iso 3200. Wish there were more lights, so that I could shoot faster speed.

Nice pictures. The last is my favorite. I have the 85mm f1.8 and I am considering the Canon EF 200mm f/2.8L II prime for outdoor sports events. I am wondering if having the prime will do as good or better than a 2.8 L series zoom lens. Still debating and researching.

I'm sure that a 200L is wonderful. I do think that you will miss some shots that will be too close (if you are on the sideline). I was planning to buy a 70-200L 2.8 when I could afford it. I bought a Sigma 70-200 2.8 to use in the mean time...turns out I really like the Sigma, so my savings will go towoard a 24-70 2.8 L. Good luck with whatever you decideto buy, and have a ball shooting those games.

i love the shots.

i had a few prime lenses that i sold after i was turned on to the 24-70 2.8 L
everything i have taken with this lens comes out great!!

so now my 2 lenses that i use the most are same as yours...that sigma 70-200 2.8 is so awesome also.

Nice pics. Night HS games are tough, but at least you had sideline access. I have the 70-200 Sigma too, but no OS.

OS doesn't help with the pans anyway. The monopod is a great help.

I'm sure that you made a good decision about the os. Let me know how you like it.

i have had the os lens since last saturday. i have taken a few photos..but i have an event scheduled next weekend and i will be able to put it to the test.

it was a hard decision to buy the OS. i had the IS on the canon that i had stolen, but i never used it.

after i bought the sigma..i had had a couple of shots that brought me down to 1/15 and 1/30 shutter speed and i couldn't hold the camera steady enough to get a great shot as i was hand holding the camera. i usually have my monopod with me..but didn't at that opportunity...so i thought i would get the OS.

the tests i have done at 1/15 shutter speed with the OS model have been very sharp....so i am glad i did it.

now i am going to rent the sigma 24-70 2.8 OS lens and compare it to my canon 24-70 2.8 L lens. if i really like it, i will sell my canon lens and buy the sigma.
