I have been trying to purchase David Busch's book for the Canon 7D Mark II. Barnes and Noble does not carry it and Amazon is on back order with a $60.00 price tag for the spiral edition. Any suggestions where I can find one for a reasonable price.

Easy answer. This book does not exist nor is it likely to be published anytime soon. David Busch's publisher has closed down its photographic division, but it own's the rights to his current and future books until sometime in mid 2016. Any books on any camera that you see still available anywhere is just remaindered stock.

Excerpts from two emails between me and David a few months ago after I purchased my 7D II and could not find his book.

"Unfortunately, my publisher shut down its photo book division and cancelled this book."

In answer to my question about seeking a different publisher David said this:

"My former publisher owns the rights to that book until March, 2016 and would not allow me to do that."

The book does not exist. It was never published. See my post just above just below yours.

Is this why I can't find a book on the Canon 1Dx?

Hi,

You may want to consider Doug Klostermann's, "Canon 7D Mark II Experience" - available at Amazon. I have the digital Kindle edition. I can carry it with me on my ipad, laptop & iPhone. I think it is excellent.

Probably not. The 1Dx is a very expensive professional level camera, as you know. I doubt anyone has written a consumer related book for a $7000 camera sold in relatively small numbers and used mostly by professionals and very advanced amateurs.

Mark - I tried looking up this book last week, but only found it available for Kindle. Is it only being sold as an e-book? I prefer a hard copy. Thanks. Patty

A couple of suggested alternatives:
1) Canon 7d Mark II Experiences by Douglas Klostermann. Available only in Kindle edition, as far as I know.
2) Consider Busch's book on the Canon 5D Mark III. The user interfaces for those two models are very similar, and you probably would find it to be very helpful.

I also purchased the Canon EOS 7D Mark II for Dummies, but found it to be very disappointing. Anything complex was described as being beyond the scope of the book, and what was provided I could have figured out by myself.

I have a 7D Mark II and needed a good book to help me get the best out of my camera. I purchased Jeff Revell's book: Canon EOS 7D Mark II From Snapshots to Great Shots and found it to be a great resource. I highly recommended it. I have always bought the Magic Lantern book but there has not been one for this camera and I found Revell's book to be just as good. It was less than $20.

His book is having problems with a publisher wanting to print his book.
