Question: Do you find the strap slides easily to bring the camera up to shooting position? On my Black Rapid all that slides is the carabinier attached to the camera.
After using a Black Rapid for over 3 years I purchased the Peak Design Slide. It does one thing better: the camera does not move around when not in use. This makes it great for hiking in state parks, etc. It does slide around the body very easily but the camera can be a stretch to get hold of. The Black Rapid hangs the camera perfectly while the Slide is not in the perfect grab and shoot position.

Good to know for sure - Thanks.
After many years using Op/Tech I'm switching to Peak Design.

I bought the Indigo Marble late last year just after they were released. Very comfortable. It used the tripod attach point but with a connector that allows for attaching to a tripod without removing the connector. The video was used extensively by Indigo in promoting their sling strap.

The Peak Design Slide can be placed in any position you want and can be attached to any of the available 3 points on your camera. If it's a stretch to get a hold of, it's because that's where you placed it or how you used the attachment points.
I've used various OpTech straps for many years. The ones I use connect to the side lugs.

But, l have used all of the brands mentioned - plus a few...And - like you - I cannot walk around with "neck jewelry". I can't - due to a herniated disk in my neck.
That is why I highly recommend that you look at the Peak Design strap - AND the Capture plate. Look at the various videos on it and it will make you wonder why there is any resistance to change in our hobby....

teesquare, OK I will give Peak Design a "look-see". -FiddleMaker

I find that it slides easy enough, first you releve the weight on the strap by raising the camera and the strap is like a seat belt and is slippery enough to easily slide around.

I second, the OpTechUSA sliding sling strap. Attaches to the two camera lugs, not the tripod threads. I wore it everyday while shooting on the streets of New Orleans. I doesn't slip or slide off the shoulder.

Another nice feature is that makes it easy to snap the strap off to better git the camera in a case or use on a tripod.
Like I said before I use the OpTech, but I've added one more important feature. I joined the CPS, when they sent me my membership they sent me a official Canon Professional Services strap. I is wider than the OPTech, at the shoulder, and clips right on the OpTech connectors. I used to have a problem with the strap falling off my shoulder, not any more.

Op Tech Sling Strap is a great way to go.

I just purchased a new camera and I'm looking for the Manfrotto shoulder strap that has the clamps that slide up/down the strap and the opposing clamps that attached to each side of the camera.
All I can seem to find is straps that connect to the camera by the tripod threads.
Anyone have any suggestions on where to a good strong shoulder strap that does not connect to the tripod threads? I have the Nikon D7200.
Thanks,
Connie
