Sigh! So no more backyard star gazing for a while....

I packed up the whole kit and caboodle.
Yep, boxed it all up.
Tonight is a full moon anyway. So not much point over the next several days anyway.
Going to go see if I can find some dark skies while we are out camping along the Colorado Reever with the kids over Labor Day weekend.
 Scared ya, didn't I?
With 4 nights, maybe I can find something to look at... :-D

Yeah, maybe a little?
With 4 nights, you'll have more opportunities than I can count! Lol!
Never let the full moon stop you from night sky shooting, it changes everything, but a whole different landscape and night sky presents itself.
Good luck!
I too have had to pack it in over the last few days, with no end in sight. Mine has been due to the fires out west have created perpetual fog like conditions. It has gotten to the point that where I was able to stare at the midday sun with my naked eyes.
Enjoy your time with the kids and the river

My heart goes out to you. It makes for gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.
But it is annoying.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Be safe out there.
Hopefully you'll bring back some nice shots.

Well hope to. I look forward to more lapsed time files as well.
Not that I have anywhere to hang them yet...
Surprise, surprise, surprise... I finally figured out how to do a batch edit in ViewNX 2. (Nikon camera program)
So I'm looking forward to fixing any crummy pictures to bring out the stars.
I also want to try a higher ISO to see what that brings out.  8-)

That's what I love about time lapse... I don't
have to be up.
Nor do I have to looking the right way, or prop my eyelids open with toothpicks.
But that Orion feller is the reason I globed onto this sport of star grasein in the first place. He ran off and hid before my telescope and mount got here.
But as a hunter myself, I'm very patient.
I hope to get some unusual shots in. ;)
Damn photography! Sure makes one think in abstract ways... ;)

Isn't a Play Station Console a funny place to store your water?
Just sayin.

Here lemme catch you up... Ya silly.
I took a Personal Spray Container (PSC) to the Desert for the heat.
I put Distilled Water in it so it doesn't leave water spots.
When it gets hot, you spray your skin and clothes with the mist and POOF!
Instant evaporation cooling.
We use them at the soccer games when it is hot.... You can cool a whole team during a water break. ;)
Like Paul Harvey said, "And now... you know the
rest of the story."
I forgot it on the big table, and GT has it saved for me. :-D
