Came across this article in the Korean Times:

http://m.koreatimes.co.kr/phone/news/view.jsp?req_newsidx=183594

Currently Sony holds 59% of the mirrorless market, with their share growing. But suprisingly, Sony also wants to dominate the the DSLR market and is using their FULL FRAME E mount platforms as a stepping stone.

Let's see how this turns out. With a new FF A mount DSLR due out next month and another reasonably priced model with advanced features before the end of the year, and a new 8K video capable full frame to be released in 2016, it looks like the company is serious....

We will see.......

The article doesn't actually say that, but since they are quoting Sony Korea employees, I guess that is a reasonable conclusion.

I wonder how far they can push this before issues arise with Nikon, Pentax, and any other traditional maker that currently uses their sensors. I also find myself wondering how much production capacity they currently have, and how much they could expand that capacity, considering the company's financial issues.

Not likely to win over the DSLR crowd any time soon because of Sony's lack of lenses and accessories.

And there are so many die-hard Canon and Nikon loyal users.

Besides you can count on Canikon to make improvements in their DSLR lines.

Shoot, at one time Mavica sales accounted for 40% of ALL digital camera sales:

I guess Sony is trying to regain that dominance... :?:

I am thinking since both companies have a long history of using Sony sensors that things won't change... ESPECIALLY with Pentax, which is building it's new full frame camera around that Sony 42 MP BSI sensor... the same one that is in the A7RII. Don't see them backing out...

My wife is REALLY ugly...., but she SURE can COOK!!!
You can't just be the best looking girl in town, you have to know how to COOK as well, or nobody will want you for very long!!!
Read...., does everything well and EXTENSIVE lens line, including the fasted lenses. That's why pros shoot Canon.
Amatuers can afford to shoot anything they want, including Sony!!

I'll bet ya there are more pros shooting Canon than ALL the Sony users combined!!!!!

Joe, Sony sells 33 A mount lenses. Tamron offers 24 A mount lenses. Samyang sells 9 A mount lenses. Sigma offers 7 more.

And there are over 100 legacy Minolta A mount lenses.

Sony "G" and Carl Zeiss lenses are some of the finest optics in the business.

So lens selection is NOT a problem. ;)

I know (I hope that you are) that you are kidding, but if you are indeed married, how would you feel if your wife constantly bragged on a forum about you having a very small pipi but that you made a ton of $$$$

It is disrespectful SS

That is a paraphrase of lyrics from a song from the '50s. You need to brush up on your cultural icons! :-) Or..."Jane, you ignorant slut."
