I apologize. I am not understanding "exposure" here. I think what I understand is not right here.
Do not worry about this exposure thing. It has the same meaning regardless of format.
ISO-DoF-Speed
RAW format is more forgiving than JPG:
JPG has an average tolerance of 2 (1 -0+ 1)
RAW has an average tolerance of 6 ( 3 2 1 -0+ 1 2 3)
Come on down under buckeye. We'll look after ya mate. I'll put some home brews on ice for you and ya old man.
To expand a bit on my opinion: I have nothing against RAW (is that an acronym?) but if you have the right exposure you can save yourself work. With digital you can see what you've shot; if it isn't right, shoot again. The truly unique, once-in-a-lifetime is exceedingly rare. (Even that superb shot of the Iwo flag raising was captured on movie film.) I love cats but that kitty is not unique and the pose is typical so why waste time correcting on computer? These days we don't even have to worry about film cost or availability.
RAW is not an acronym. It does not stand for anything other than 'raw' as unprocessed. The capitalization is made to distinguish from raw (as raw meat by example). Manufacturers are aware of that and use their own anagrams, to suit their purposes and differentiate themselves from each other.
Thanks. I've been told that but wanted to make sure. There are so many initials and acronyms now I'm falling behind.
See what I mean? What's an IMO? YOu have very big teeth Mr. Wolf. Really skeery.

In My Opinion.
Also, see IMHO, for the more "humble" among us... ROFLMAO...

Learn proper exposure and you won't have to do all that work!
I take photos at dog shows and some folks are rather irritable - I do try to get exposure right, and white balance too but it doesn't always come out right. I have committed to shooting Raw all the time because of a few shots that I just couldn't fix in jpeg format... I also shoot some Taekwondo advancement tests and take some shots like board breaks that don't get a 2nd chance. Sure, we could stage a better shot later but they know it wasn't really the one that got them the new color or black belt - they would rather have a photo of poor quality than a retake so I shoot Raw format for my best chance of recovery IF a fix is needed.
Ach du lieber and Oy Weh! Spare me the initials! I surrender.

I hope you are not a frog!!! Otherwise they may take exception to that!!! (joking)
My camera has an "extra fine" setting which isn't quite RAW but lets me do whatever I've needed for correction. You need a big hard card for RAW.
Naw, you just need to transfer the content more often.
Wow, had no idea I asked such a loaded question. Thanks again to everyone for all the input. Raw file in brain is full now : )
