I have a 50mm f1.4 Nikon lens from the 70's, cannot find a lens hood. Does anyone out there have one they are willing to sell?

I am quite sure you can get a lens hood for your lens. B&H and Adorama are two excellent places to look for that hood.
Perhaps someone here has one and you do not have to look any further.
I also have a similar lens and I use a rubber lens hood with it.

Darn, had you asked two years ago I had one that I found. I kept offering it to fellow photo students but all the (silly) Nikon users -- and nearly everyone else -- had only huge front modern zoom lenses, no vintage prime lenses. So I gave it to an instructor. He was not all that excited either since it was a duplicate, and made jokes about a bribe. That is silly as it was adult education and everything there was Pass / Fail.

Didn't a Nikon 50mm 1.4 come with a reversible lens hood
when it was new?

Are you looking for a lens hood or a Nikon "made for this lens" lens hood.
Just about every camera store has a 52mm rubber lens hood that will work on that lens.
Antique camera dealers might be the place to look for the original Nikkor metal lens hood. If that is what you are looking for.

The one I have I believe is from the 60's - engraved on the hood is "50/1.4 F NIKKOR JAPAN" The condition is excellent 9 of 10.
