I have been hesitant to download Windows 10, I have found that over the years the older software programs are increasingly unfriendly with new Operating Systems...when Windows 7 I think it was went to 64 bit from 32 bit it nearly drove me insane trying to use everything that worked fine with the "old, archaic" system. I will watch and hope there are UHH members out there with some savvy on your W 10 problem without saying "go look at place 'x'. I called my nephew who is professional geek and he said he avoids a new system for while to they get the bugs out. (He is a 'bug-finder' for Cisco. he says his job is to try to find glitches, to try find software 'breaks' or even 'try to break things' so they can fix them ahead of time)

Perhaps I am being thick but can you not Open and navigate from Corel?

Or is this a file association problem?

I have been trawling through the Corel site and they say that Paint Shop Pro 7 is compatible, however everytime I tried to check system requirements I just kept getting version 8.

My first thoughts are "Is the version you have actually compatible with Win 10?"

The easiest way is to buy a memory card reader - much more convenient that connecting the camera via usb cable. If you are interested I'd be happy to give the information. (a recommendation & where to buy)

Using the camera:
In the search bar, type "auto play".
Check the top box: Use Autoplay ...
Check "Choose what to do, ...
Check Pictures
Click on Choose a default
Now select what you want your PC to do

Hope this helps. BTW: Memory Card readers are very inexpensive - $15 - 20. I urge your to consider purchasing one. Just plug it in and it's ready to go. (USB - auto install)

Forgot one step.
click on "Memory card"
Now select your choice.

Let me know if it now works. It should be auto.

Thanks markengolf but I can connect via my printer. In W7 it was easy to get to Corel but now in 10 I can't.
Searcher, Corel is fine with W10, in fact it works quicker.

It still works in Win 10. It just has to be (easily) configured. However, If your happy - that's what counts.

It is a little hard to answer this question with the minimal amount of information you have supplied.

We don't know what type of camera, which version of Paintshop Pro, or how you transferred photos under Windows 7. I found your comment about a printer a little confusing.

Windows 10 is actually quite impressive. I have got a dual boot machine between Windows 7 and Windows 10 so I can test things out. So far everything has worked properly on Windows 10. I have also upgraded an old 32bit Toshiba laptop without any problems. I have even had success with 10 year old Palm PDAs and tape-based Sony Video cameras. Everything just worked.

I have an old copy of PaintshopPro from about 1996, PSP6, and also PaintshopPro x5. Everything works with Windows 10, and my photos can be opened and edited exactly as functions on Windows 7 when I switch between Operating systems on the same machine.

I'm normally very cautious about upgrades to new tech - I work in the tech industry and also usually wait for vendors to shake the bugs out. So far I haven't found any show stoppers with Windows 10, a little simple configuration and it seems very good.

Good luck....

I have Windows 10 on my laptop, and I did take photo's. When I plugged in my camera or USB card to download, I got a list of options on how to move the photo's. Try it and see if Coral shows up.

I just recently installed windows 10 and have not yet mastered every part of this new system. But many processes are similar to windows 7 & 8. One thing when 1st setting up this OS after final installation, you have the option to select your default programs for different functions. With pictures there's a program called "photo's that all your pics default to unless you tell windows not to let "Photo'" be default program for pics. So your pics may auto import into photo's and you have to retrieve them from there. I stopped all programs from being the default so I would not have such problems. I insert my SD card in my laptop reader, open the pic folder in windows explorer, and send the pics where I want. Works almost exactly as windows 7 & 8 does. Now you may have a problem with compatibility with your program and windows 10. You have to determine if you do. But windows 10 has been designed to avoid all the headache with compatibility issues we had with earlier new OS's. I've only had 2 programs that would not work with win 10, and the program site already had a win 10 version update to download. All in all, windows 10 has been more trouble free, than any other new OS Microsoft has came out with. It has a few minor issues and glitches but in comparison to other new OS startups, it is running pretty smooth and trouble free.

How did you do it in WIN 7? should work the same, I use the Canon software, I did have to upgrade from Zoom Browser to Image Browser with the change to Win 10 but now Canon does all the heavy work, you could just use the file manager and set up a folder and copy /cut and Paste your photos, then open the file manager in PSP and navigate to the folder, kind of basic computer work actually, Bob.
