Diet, try this. Take two pieces of paper and on one write down all the things that you’re upset about on the other write down all the positive things going on in your life. Burn the first and put the second on the front of your fridge. Read the one on the fridge every moring when you get up and again each night before you go to bed. See if you don’t look at life a little differently in a couple weeks…. Just a suggestion.

No don't burn the first one. Put it on the wall by your toilet!

I'm running out of things that I'm upset with. This group has been very helpful, get stuff off my chest, while at the same helping me with my hobby. I do thank all of you.

Now how about Knotts Berry Farm!

So what's your point? The US no longer has shipyards that build cruise ships.Pretty much all we make any more are subs and small G/M frigates. Plus, I'd venture to guess the skilled shipyard workers in Italy and Germany make damn near as much as their brethren in the US. If you want Walt to build his ships in the US, no one is stopping you from opening up a shipyard that meets their quality standards and underbidding the other yards.

The point is that not even a flag waving theme park, is not stepping up to the plate and paying it's fair share.

It's time the mouse paid it's fair share.

If not then it's time for Americans to Boycott the place.

Perhaps we should get all the businesses to bring back all the jobs that have been exported because other countries have lower wage laws, where is your computers tech service handled? call in centers can be anywhere, where was your coffee pot assembled? your shirt? get the idea? Bob.

I was reading about Disney Cruise Lines. It seems that 2 of its ships where built in Italy and the other two Germany. All of the ships fly the flag of the Bahamas (Port of Registry, Nassau, Bahamas)

I guess Mickey found away around paying a fair wage or even taxes.

Hey Doc ..... mickey says you're #1 with him

Diet, do not put Donald Duck & Co. on the unemployment line! I wish their prices were lower, but I would never want to see Disney fail. They employ so many people and give families memories that are priceless. Some of the happiest moments of my life were watching the faces of my kids in Disneyworld. I am now looking forward to taking my grandsons there. I just hope I won't have to sell my camera gear to pay for it! LOL

Refer back to Bull Drink Water here. He made a good point.
It's not really about shipbuilding but that it's so hard to
find anything built here anymore.

No Jim, we still have yards with the capabilties of building commercial vessels but it's been a combination of things that drove them away. The government, cost of material, cost of skilled labor. If a commercial ship is built in this country then it has to be flagged in this country. That means higher taxes and registeration fees.

I have a relative that works for a company that customizes yachts, they’re about to close their doors because they can’t keep pace with all the government regulations….and so it goes. :|

Better make those 4-sale signs, $93.00 per day per person. Need to be a Saudi Sheek to afford those prices.
